If there's any group of people that knows how to party and show their pride in a big way, it's Southerners. What better place to do that than in the heart of the South? This year's Central Alabama Pride will likely be the biggest one ever. With Grammy Award winning artist Mýa performing as this year's headliner and new sponsors, Central Alabama Pride is expected to draw people from all over the Southeast region.
Pride events will be going on all week long and will end with a parade on Saturday and the official pride festival on Sunday. The parade will step-off at 8:30pm and can be observed along a route starting in Five Points South, through 20th Street S., and down 7th Avenue S. Don't forget to file into one of the many local gay bars after the parade for a fun night of celebration.
On Sunday, the festival will start at 12:00 pm with various vendors, live D.J.s, food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and live entertainment from the main stage all day long!
